Anna Marie
Saindon
Dec 12, 1926 — Apr 17, 2019
Anna Marie Saindon
December 12, 1926 – April 17, 2019
Born on December 12, 1926 to Frank and Rose Yurich in Oak Creek, Colorado Anna was the only daughter of six children.
She met a young man, Leo Saindon, from Phippsburg and they were married on August 31, 1952. She and Leo had two daughters, Rosemarie in 1953 and Susan in 1955. During these years Leo worked for the Rio Grande Railroad and Anna had many jobs including working in the fields in South Routt County harvesting potatoes, clerking in the local drug store, and for a time she owned and ran a café in Oak Creek. After they moved to Oak Creek, she began her career as the food service manager for the South Routt County School District and retired in 1988.
She and Leo were able to move from Phippsburg in 1963 and purchased a home in Oak Creek which became her main focus; she was very proud of her house and spent endless time working to improve it over the years. It was a sad day when her health would no longer let her live alone in the home and she had to sell it.
She was active for many years with St. Martins Church and served with the Alter Rosary Society. After retirement she spent as much time as possible with her grandchildren and really enjoyed family gatherings and having the grandkids around Labor Day for the Oak Creek activities. Her main passions were her grandchildren and the house.
A few years after Leo passed, she was unable to maintain her home and moved to Granby, CO where she lived with her daughter Susan for 10 years. After that her health was such that she elected to move to the Washington County Nursing Home in Akron, CO. She lived there until she passed on April 17, 2019.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Leo, brothers Mike, Frank, Steve, and Peter.
She is survived by her brother John, daughters Rosemarie (Saindon) McGinley and Susan (Saindon) James, and sons in law Mike McGinley and Chris James. She is also survived by grandchildren Sabrina Burton, Stephanie Myers, Travis Geisler, and Sara McGinley. Also, there are great grandchildren Andrew Burton, Quinn Shea, Connor Shea, and RJ Myers. She also had numerous nieces and nephews.
She will be lovingly remembered by her family for her love of life, family, and traditions.
Services will be on April 26 at St. Martins in Oak Creek. A rosary service will be held at 10 AM with the funeral service to follow at 10:30 AM. Interment will be held at the Oak Creek Cemetery.
