Caroline Gail Stoddard passed away peacefully in her sleep in the morning hours of August 22, 2017. She was 86 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband Col. (RET) Richard N. Stoddard in 2001. Her early life was one spent in the military; born to an Army officer and later married to one. Spending almost 40 years in Steamboat Springs, Colorado garnered her many friends. She is survived by her children Erik, Anne, Taft, Amy, and Matt, her granddaughter Mica-Shannon, and her two siblings Page Hartley and KC Smith. Her ashes will be interred with her husband's ashes in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
