Dale Edwin Whitmore, 74, a long time resident of Steamboat Springs passed away August 5, 2018. Dale was born in Shelby Montana, to Arthur and Doris Whitmore. He is survived by his two older sisters Lois and Myrna, wife Betty and children: Chad, Kevin, Tyler, Dana Smith, Amber Wallis Levy and 11 grandchildren. He was raised on his family farm in Conrad, Montana, where he completed school and went on to the University of Montana where he met and married the love of his life, Betty Allan in 1966. They began their adventure in Las Vegas and journeyed to Ferndale Washington, and Leoti Kansas before being drawn to the mountains where they made Steamboat Springs their forever home in 1979. Many may have known him in the construction field or as a longtime driver for Alpine taxi/ Go Alpine. Over the years he has enjoyed riding his gold wing motorcycle, snowmobiling, and riding his 4 wheeler with friends and family. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart and he will forever be remembered as Papa Dale. His family was second only to serving Jehovah God, where he had the hope of being reunited with his family and friends on a paradise earth.   A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 25th at 1:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses Church on Elk River Road.
