Darrell Jansa passed away on July 3rd in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. He was born in St. Paul, Minnesota. He earned an associate degree at the University of Minnesota and worked for 3-M company and General Electric in St. Paul, MN. After re-locating several times for GE, he gave up the corporate life and moved to Steamboat Springs, Colorado in 1977 after a visit to the Yampa Valley for a fishing trip. For thirty years he sold shoes and toys, after ski boots and T-shirts in the "The Elephant's Trunk" and "The Flying Pig."
Darrell loved the game of golf and played courses all over the world. He enjoyed casinos, travel, meeting people and giving free advice to all who would listen.
Darrell was preceded in death by his father John Jansa, his mother Janet (Shearer) Jansa and niece Crista Alexander.
He is survived by his loving wife Louise (Weege) Jansa, his sons Guy and Scott Jansa, stepsons Ben (Jimmie) and Thaddeus Josephson and 4 grandchildren. His sisters Barbara Jaloszynski (Leo), Nancy Alexander (Mike) several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. A small family memorial will be held at a later date.
