Diane Kathleen
Graham
May 2, 1972 — Jun 25, 2023
Diane Graham, 51, of Steamboat Springs, passed away on June 25 while adventuring in the great outdoors that she loved. She will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, spouse, sister, daughter, and friend.
Diane was born on May 2, 1972, to Tom and Rosemary Graham in Dillon, Montana. Much of her young life was spent in Kalispell, Montana, where she graduated from middle school and high school. She went on to study at Flathead Valley Community College and later, the University of Montana in Missoula. Diane's greatest joys were her children, and later in life, her grandchildren. She was so proud of her children, Mikelle (Avian) and Alec, her stepchildren Tyler (Ashleigh), David (Ellie), and Hope, and her grandchildren, James, Jacob, Maverick, Xander, and Waylon.
A loyal and committed employee, Diane spent most of her life working for only two employers: Pizza Hut and Sheraton. She had a deep understanding of service and treated customers and guests with kindness and care. She saw her work colleagues as extended family and built many special friendships over the years.
Since 2014, Diane had lived in Steamboat Springs with her spouse, Doug. She loved spending time outdoors, fishing, snowmobiling, camping, and rafting. Together, they enjoyed travel and spending time with family and friends.
In 2020, Diane was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent a mastectomy and had been cancer-free for for the past two and a half years. Her strength, humor, and resilience were an inspiration to family and friends.
Diane was predeceased by her mother Rosemary, stepmother Joann, and grandson Easton. She is survived by her father Tom (Fay), brothers Dan and DJ (Amity) and her sister Debbie (John).
A celebration of life will be held at the Sheraton Resort in Steamboat Springs on Saturday, July 1, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., followed by a no-host reception from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Drennan's Dreams Foundation, an organization dedicated to drowning prevention and water safety.
