Dwight Huffstetler, lifelong resident of Yampa, CO, died on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at home. He was 70. He was born on May 10, 1946 in Craig , Colorado to Bueford and Doris Huffstetler. He attended Yampa Elementary and Soroco High School before being drafted to fight in Vietnam where he served one tour. When he returned home, he cowboy'd at the family ranch and in many other ranches from Routt to Eagle County. He was a referee for many sports and worked with many of the youth in this valley. He drove a truck the rest of his professional life for many outfits until he bought his own truck and started Tomcat Trucking from which he retired at 65. A unique soul, Dwight was always happy and enjoyed hunting and fishing and being outdoors with his son. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Dwight is survived by his son Jake , his mother Doris and his brother Bruce. A memorial service organized by Jake and Becca will be held at the Yampa Cemetery on June 24, 2016 at 2:00pm with a celebration of life to follow at the Huffstetler Ranch in Yampa. Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made in Dwight's name to the Steamboat Springs VFW post.
