Evelyn
Burch
Apr 28, 1928 — Aug 28, 2019
On August 28, 2019, Evelyn Burch, age 91, formerly of Steamboat Springs, and Dixon Wyoming, passed through Heaven's gates.
She is survived by her children, Burdetta Walters, Barbara Green, Greg Burch, and Lori Burch, and their families which include 15 grand children, 23 great grand children, and 3 great great grand children.
It's very rare to have 5 generations of family living, and our family was very blessed to have her for so long. She was an amazing woman, a loving mother, and a feisty grandma. She was loved dearly, and will be missed everyday.
Evelyn leaves behind her legacy and the amazing ability to cook huge, delicious meals, with seemingly little effort. She fed anyone, and everyone that came through her doors, and thousands of meals were enjoyed at her table. Her hospitality was well known by all friends, neighbors, and family, and was lovingly appreciated. Her biscuits and gravy, her pot roast and potatoes, and her amazing spice cakes and cow pie cookies (oatmeal cookies) will forever be missed.
Evelyn was also famous for keeping things neat, clean, and orderly. She was "Queen" of our family, so if she said jump, you usually answered "how high?". Without a doubt, Heaven is now doing a little reorganization and tidying things up! The angels most likely have mops and brooms in their hands as we speak. She'll get things whipped into shape in no time flat.
Although she will be greatly missed, her family has some peace, just knowing that she is now reunited with her husband, Versel (Joe) Burch, whom she loved dearly, and has missed for many years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe Gray and Ellen Baker, by her husband, Versel (Joe) Burch, by her siblings, Edward, Donald, and Gladys, and by her oldest son Larry Joe Burch.
May she Rest In Peace, and know that her job is done. She did an amazing job raising her family.
There will be a small graveside service at the Reader Cemetery in Savery, Wyoming, on Saturday, September 7th, at 1 pm in the afternoon.
