Heidi Marie Cordell, 23, resident of Steamboat Springs, passed away on Saturday September 19. Heidi was loved so much by all of her family and friends. With her blue eyes, blonde hair, warm smile and friendly manner, she was such a treasure to all of us, particularly her brother Kyle and to her parents Jennifer and Bob. Heidi was a graduate of Steamboat Springs High School in 2010. Playing Ice hockey with Steamboat Youth Hockey and a travel team plus with Vail High School was important to her as she dearly loved the sport. Skiing and horseback riding were some of her other interests. She rode many years in the 4th of July parade and looked forward each year to that event. After graduating from Montage Academy of Cosmetology in Longmont, she decided that her true passion was in the field of heath care. Heidi started to work at Casey's Pond as a unit secretary and CNA. Following that, she was working as a unit secretary and CNA at Yampa Valley Medical Center, which she dearly loved, along with continuing her education in the field of nursing at CMC. She was so happy with her life at this point and developed many close relationships through her work. Heidi will be deeply missed by Jennifer, Bob and Kyle as well as her grandparents, Ora and Fred Johnson of Boulder. Heidi is survived by her aunts and uncles: Julie and Dave Herman of Steamboat, Stephanie and Bill Bond of Centennial, Kelly and Tom Baum of Broomfield, Wayne and Rebecca Johnson of Boulder, Rita and Glenn Biasi of Reno, NV and several cousins. There will be a Celebration of Life held on Saturday September 26, 2015 at 1:30 PM at the Yampa Valley Funeral Home.
