Jacqlynn (Jaci, Jax) Renea Larsen (June 18, 1965 – November 10, 2016) died at the age of 51 on Thursday, November 10, 2016 @ Yampa Valley Medical Center in Steamboat Springs, CO. Beloved daughter of Richard Henry and Rose Marie (Nelson) Larsen, Jax was born in Guthrie Center, IA. Jax graduated from Anaconda High School in 1983 and graduated with a BA in Philosophy from the University of Montana in 1989.
Jax lived in Missoula, MT until 1992, La Crosse, WI until 1999, served in the U.S. Naval Reserve from 1996-2004, and moved to Steamboat Springs, CO. in 1999 where she worked for GO Alpine for over sixteen years in various positions and ultimately was the Groups Coordinator, Special Events and Wedding Manager.
Jax is survived by her father Richard Henry Larsen of Steamboat; her siblings, Richard (sister-in-law Kristen) H. Larsen Jr. of Lincoln, NE, and Angelique (brother-in-law Rick) Irene "Angel" Weber of Aurora, CO; nieces and nephews, Carl Elliott, Dylan James, and Lily Raelynn Larsen and Samantha RoseAnne, Morgan Rae, and William James Bailey; great-nephew Kaden Davis; and her cherished dog Jaz.
Jax is preceded in death by siblings Samantha Renea and infant Carl Arthur (1967), and her mother Rose Marie (Nelson) Larsen (2012). Jax's wish to be an organ donor was honored before her cremation. A celebration of life / memorial service will take place on Saturday afternoon May 20th (UPDATED 4/24) from 1 - 3 pm @ Perry Mansfield, 40755 County Rd 36 - Beautiful glass lodge with gorgeous views of Strawberry Park.
In lieu of flowers to Jax's family, gifts and donations are encouraged to the Rosie and Jax Animal Fund at Steamboat Veterinary Hospital, 1878 Lincoln, Ave., Steamboat Springs, CO 80487, phone number 970.879.1041. Jax was beloved by all who knew her, whose boundless enthusiasm, kind and generous heart for helping people and loving all animals, especially dogs, cats, giraffes, and goats was endearing and forever memorable.
