James M.
Meyers
Aug 30, 1933 — Oct 23, 2026
Steamboat Springs

1:00 - 5:00 pm (Mountain time)
After a life well lived and still making people smile till the end, Jim took his last breath on Friday, October 23rd. Born to Bud & Hattie Meyers in Glendale, CA. Jim was the third of four children, Phylis, MaryJean, Jim and Bill. He had a wonderful childhood growing up in Southern California surfing, biking, skiing and speed skating.
In 1954, he enlisted in the Army and married his forever sweetheart, Barbara. Basic training moved them to Colorado Springs where they started a family. Jim attended DU where he was a proud member of the Pioneers ski team. After graduation, the family moved back to California to be near grandparents, where family adventures, including skiing, camping, sailing and tennis continued. But, let's not be fooled, it was here that Jim's hard core passion for bike racing was ignited.
In 1982, Jim and Barb moved back to Colorado. Their love of the outdoors and connections with friends brought them to the Yampa Valley. As the friendships deepened and the support grew stronger, this community became home.
Your memories and shared adventures are the rest of Jim's story.....
Jim was preceded in death by his son Dennis, and his wife Barbara. He is survived by daughter Lynne Meyers, daughter Julie Braunsdorf (Bob), granddaughter Sarah Braunsdorf, grandson Scott Braunsdorf (Molly), and great grandsons Roark and Rex.
Celebration of Jim's life will be held Saturday, November 14th, 1pm-5pm, Olympian Hall.
