Joanne Boomgarden, 85, of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, passed away peacefully March 22, 2026, and went home to be with her Lord and Savior.

Joanne was born November 3, 1940, in Wentworth, South Dakota. She was raised with strong values of faith, family, and hard work that guided her throughout her life. A devoted Christian, Joanne was a faithful member of Concordia Lutheran Church, where she served as a youth leader and was active in the women's guild. Her lifelong devotion to children was evident throughout her life as a schoolteacher, youth leader, and for 28 years as an office manager for a local orthodontist.

Known for her servant's heart, she was often the first to organize meals, cook, and deliver food or a homemade pie to those in need. Joanne was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Marty Boomgarden, for 63 years. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, compassion, unwavering faith, and her gift for making others feel cared for and welcomed. Family was central to her life. She shared a close bond with her six siblings and was a loving mother to two daughters, as well as a proud grandmother and great-grandmother.

A celebration of Joanne's life will be held March 29, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Concordia Lutheran Church, Steamboat Springs. The family kindly requests attendees wear bright colors in celebration of Joanne's life. Guests who wish are welcome to bring a pie to share in Joanne's honor, to be enjoyed downstairs in the fellowship hall following the celebration.
