Obituary

Kimberly Ann Brower was born May 12, 1949 to good and loving parents, Melvin Joseph Brower and Wilma Lucile Clark Brower in Denver Colorado. Kim's parents preceded her in death, both passing away in 2007. She is survived by two sisters, Melanie Ashby and Kyla Waterman, her husband Ron, their five children Scott, Heidi, Erika, Jared, and Ron, and their spouses, and fifteen grandchildren. She grew up in Denver, Colorado, surrounded by extended family, and moved to Steamboat Springs just before 10th grade at the age of 15. She graduated from Steamboat Springs High School in 1967 and from the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 1971. She married her best friend, Ronald Bruce Schnackenberg on August 14th, 1971 and began her life in her favorite roles as wife and mother. They had five children who each became her favorite and they remained her favorite throughout her life. She enjoyed watching her family grow and loved being a part of the lives of her grandchildren. She not only provided love, compassion, guidance, teaching, and security for her own family, but she also shared all her wonderful qualities with friends and neighbors wherever she was. There were many callings in the church where she served with great devotion. Her love for the Lord and all her fellowmen radiated from her willing and dedicated service in whatever position she held at any specific time. It would be hard to count the number of children that were blessed by the touch of her gentile hand and the love of her tender heart. She always had open arms and a hug for any child that needed some attention. She said her happiest memory came on August 14, 1975 when she was sealed to her husband, children, and extended family in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This event is the greatest blessing that an individual, and family, can have on the earth and provides strength and comfort through all the trials that each of us experiences in mortality. Services will be held 9:00 a.m., Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Craig. The interment will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the Steamboat Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the LDS Church Humanitarian Aid Fund. Yampa Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
