Obituary

Lois Crispino, 77, passed away on August 24, 2025, reunited in heaven with the loved ones who preceded her in death. She will be deeply missed by her devoted son, Joe Monchelli; her loving daughter-in-law, Melissa Monchelli; and her cherished grandsons, Bode and Leo Monchelli. Her final years were spent surrounded by family and love.

Lois was born in Scranton to Ann Malachowski and Nicholas Crispino. She spent most of her life in Scranton, aside from some time living in Massachusetts, before eventually moving to Colorado when her grandsons were born. Her greatest joy in life was being near her boys, and she devoted herself wholeheartedly to her son, daughter-in-law, and especially to Bode and Leo, who meant everything to her.

Lois loved her dogs, her family, and above all, her grandsons. A devout Catholic, her faith shaped the way she lived and loved. It has been said that "God is love, and to be like God is to love," and that is exactly how Lois lived her life. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love left a lasting impact on her family, and so much of her spirit can be seen in her grandsons. To her son, she was the best mother in the world.

She is now at peace with her two sisters, extended family, and dear friends in heaven.

A Catholic Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral, followed by burial at Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton, PA.
