Martha Lucille (Anderson) Ursich was born to Joel and Pearl Anderson August 1, 1925 on a lovely summer day in Steamboat Springs, CO, She returned to the arms of the Lord on August 9, 2015, again on a lovely summer day. Martha passed unexpectedly following a sudden brief illness; she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Martha resided at the Mountain View Manor Apartments until the time of her death. Remembered as mom,' grandma,' aunt,' and friend,' She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joel and Pearl, and brothers Harold, Edwin, Ronald and Lyman, and her sisters Ruth (Anderson) Pierce and Sharon (Anderson) Zulevich. Tragically she was also preceded in death by her beloved youngest child Christie Lee (Ursich) Appel on July 11, 2012. Martha is survived by her son Michael H. (Mick) Ursich and his wife Stella, and by her daughter Sharman S. (Ursich) Brown and her husband Robert (Bob); her grandchildren Stacey Poulsen, Douglas Appel, Eric Ursich, Tasha Reynolds, Michael Appel, Keith Appel, Nicholas Soash, Sarah Ursich and Mary Ann Ursich. Martha was blessed with 13 great-grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Martha attended Steamboat Springs High School where she fell in love with music; she was an accomplished flutist and remembered fondly when she was a participant in the first Winter Carnival High School Marching Band. Martha retired from Mountain Bell Telephone Company and then continued to work part time at the Harbor Hotel while she cared for her mother Pearl. She loved her family, she loved to travel and her passion was reading. Martha was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Martha had tremendous compassion for animals. The family would request in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Routt County Humane Society, P.O. Box 772080 Steamboat Springs, CO 80477. Donations can also be made to the Mission Children she supported International Fellowship of Hope P.O. Box 94 ILiff, CO 80736. A Funeral Mass was held August 15, 2015, 10:00 a.m. at Holy Name Catholic Church.
