Obituary

Patricia "Patsy" Grieve was born March 9, 1943 and went to be with the Lord on February 1, 2021. Patsy was born to Phil and Betty Freese in Rawlins, WY and was later joined by her two sisters Kay Dee and Lana Sue. Patsy grew up loving horses so it was no surprise when she married her cowboy, Leeland "Tommy" Grieve on September 20, 1961.  Patsy jumped into being a rancher's wife and could be found driving the team while Tommy fed even on the coldest of days. Patsy also developed a love for suffolk black faced sheep.  Tommy and Patsy welcomed their first son Thomas "Patrick" Grieve and then shortly after their second son, Michael Grieve.

Patsy was very active in the Little Snake River Community as a 4-H leader and the Cowbells (which I still think the family is using the napkins they had made). Patsy also made sure the branding crews were well fed and was constantly putting the needs of others before herself. Patsy later transitioned from a rancher's wife to running the Western United Realty Office.

In 1991 Patsy welcomed Pat's soon to be wife Anita Grieve and two grandchildren, Lisa and Gregory Bauman.  Patsy took to being a grandma immediately and ensured she was at every activity, game and speech meet. In 1995 Patsy welcomed her grandson Patrick "Garrett" Grieve which of those who know Patsy this completed her world.  When Tommy could not find Patsy at the office or home he knew she was with Garrett somewhere.  Patsy traveled all over to watch Garrett compete in sports or rodeo and was truly his biggest cheerleader.  Patsy also ensured the basketball team had plenty of chocolate chip cookies for road trips.

Patsy had many passions in life to include reading, planting flowers at the church, office and home, as well as traveling.  Patsy enjoyed her Lake Powell trips, golfing in Texas and even a rafting trip down the Grand Canyon.  Patsy really loved the family trips to Florida, Mexico, and even Costa Rica. Starting June 1st of every year Patsy could be found getting ready for the annual "Pond Party" with friends and family.  The ponds hold many special memories of her grandkids fishing and even getting to see her great grandchildren fish.

Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, Phil and Betty Freese and son Michael Grieve.  Patsy is survived by her husband of 59 years Tommy Grieve, son Pat (Anita) Grieve, sisters Kay Dee Cooper and Lana Sue Givens; her grandchildren Lisa (Josh) Brown, Greg (Tasha) Bauman, and Garrett (Kristie) Grieve. Her great grandchildren Hunter, Skyler, Bailey, Emerson and Aspen.  As well as her nieces and nephew Ember (Kevin) Stewart; Trenton (Jen) Givens; Laura (David) Brown, and Terri Kay Martin.

There will be a celebration of life held later this summer.
