After a lengthy illness, Rita went to meet Our Lord at 94 years old.

Rita was born in Edina, MO to Beatrice and Andrew Gibbons. Rita was raised on the family farm along with one sister and three brothers.

She married Leroy Parris July 26, 1947 in Keokuk, IA and after moving frequently to follow Leroy's work, they settled in Jackson County in 1954. Rita was a devoted and loving mother to her children Dan and Deb and doting wife to Leroy until his death in 1995.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband; sister, Barbara; and brothers, Richard and James.

She is survived by her brother Anthony in Saint Charles, MO; Son Dan and daughter, Deb (Willford), both of Walden, CO; her granddaughter, Jennifer Torrez (Dom); four great grandsons, Jordan, Nate, Gabe, and Cruz, all of Bloomfield, CO.
