Robert A.
Crulo
Aug 10, 1952 — May 30, 2018
Robert "Bobby" Alan Crulo, 65, residing in Oak Creek Colorado, passed away at his home on May 30th, 9:45 p.m. Bobby was born to Eva Mae Houpt and Howard Ray Crulo on August 10, 1952. He grew up in Avoca watching his mother manage the Crulo Trucking Company. Bobby was drafted into the US Army in 1973 and served for 2 years. He worked construction for several years and went on to work at Crane for 22 years as an explosive operator.
Bobby married Karen D. Elliott on December 28, 1984. He remodeled a house in Springville were they resided until 1990. Then they moved into Bedford, he never really like town, he was always a country boy at heart.
He had love for an ice cold Coca-Cola and you rarely saw him without a big gulp in hand. He also loved people and never had a harsh word to say about anyone. He made best friends with the convenience store workers and never knew a stranger. He gave new meaning to give the shirt off his back. He would do anything for a friend and go out of his way for a stranger. You knew he really had a soft spot for you if he referred to you as darling or young lady.
Bobby loved basketball. Lived and breathed the game of basketball is more accurate. From the IU clothes he wore to the countless conversations he had. Whether it was a live Hoosier game at Assembly Hall, a March madness game on CBS, or one of his nieces or beloved grandkids on the court, Bobby was there. He was always up for a quick pick up game and never shy to tell you man-to-man is better than zone. Amen!
Bobby moved to Colorado after a diagnosis of cancer in 2013. He loved the mountains but his heart still remained in the southern hills of Indiana. Bobby passed away at his home, after telling his grandkids goodnight, with his kids by his side.
Bobby is survived by his three kids, Onika and her husband, Matthew Mayer, Zachary Crulo and Maggie Crulo, his two grandkids, Eden and Alan Mayer, his loving sister belle, Linda Richardson, and his two brothers, Larry and Phil Crulo and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Howard and Eva Crulo and his wife, Karen D Crulo.
In Lieu of flowers, please join us for a memorial service on Thursday June 28, 2018 at the Avoca Baptist Church. Visitation will start at 4pm, Service at 5pm and dinner to follow. CJ Coolidge will officiate and Karen J Crulo will deliver the eulogy.
