Ronald Craig Campbell, a resident of Steamboat Springs, CO was born on July 18, 1963 in Hugo, CO to Gordon and Vera Campbell. After spending 5 years in Limon, CO he moved to Steamboat Springs with his family in 1968.

In 1977, during his sophomore year in school he moved to Craig, CO where he graduated from Moffat County High School in 1981. His first job was washing dishes at the Waffle Shack in Steamboat Springs. He also delivered tools and hardware to the mines and power plants of western Colorado before taking a job as an electrician for 25 years including 2 1/2 years in Florida.

After coming back from Florida, Ron spent several years fighting alcohol addiction until finally becoming sober in 1991. Ron was in the Good News Building when it exploded on Feb. 3, 1994 and helped rescue victims.

Ron met his wife and soulmate, Joanie Lynn Reed in 2002, and they were married on November 18, 2006. In 2014 they moved back to Steamboat to their house in 20-mile park. Joanie was called to Heaven on December 31, 2020 after a 4-month battle with lung cancer.

In 2022, Ron took a 16-day trip of a lifetime to Europe with his son and best friend, Nicholas James Campbell. They visited Germany, Switzerland, Mt. Pilatus and the Lion of Lucerne. They also traveled to Liechtenstein, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary and had a short layover in Paris, France.

Ron is survived by many friends and family including his beloved sister and best friend Crystal Campbell; his son, Nick; stepdaughter, Tara, and several grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the Yampa Valley Funeral Home followed by internment at the Steamboat Springs Cemetery.
