Sandra "Sandy" Jean Childers passed away peacefully at her home on March 17, 2026, at the age of 91.

Sandy was born and raised in Eagle, Colorado, where she met and married the love of her life, Robert Childers. Together they raised three children: Robert (Bob), Denise, and Cynthia (Cindy).

In 1965, Sandy and her family moved to Steamboat Springs, where they built a wonderful life together and became part of the community she cherished deeply. Sandy always held fond memories of her years working at the junior high school, where she enjoyed helping and connecting with others.

Sandy had a creative spirit and a generous heart. She loved painting, photography, gardening among her flowers, and many other artistic hobbies throughout her life. She found joy in creating beauty, caring for those around her, and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Grace Eaton; her husband, Robert; and her daughter, Denise.

She is survived by her son, Robert "Bob" Childers and daughter Cindy (John); her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Sandy will be remembered for her creativity, kindness, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. Her warmth, talent, and caring nature touched many lives and will be deeply missed.
