Obituary

Truman Veach Yowell, 98, of Delta, Colorado died October 20, 2016 in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

Mr. Yowell was born November 27, 1917 in Monroe City, Missouri to Vivian Valira Veach Yowell and John Marvin Yowell. He married Mary Margaret Smith in Aurora, Colorado in March of 1941. They were married for over 40 years before she proceeded him in death.

Mr. Yowell was a farmer, rancher and businessman. He owned several ranches throughout the state of Colorado with locations including Eastern Colorado, Steamboat Springs and most recently, the Roubidoux Ranch in Delta. He owned registered Black Angus and Gelbvieh cattle. Mr. Yowell was also a cooperating partner of the Valhalla Herd Cattle Company. He served as President of the Routt County National Farmers Organization and the Colorado National Farmers Organization for numerous years.

Mr. Yowell's interests included riding ATV's and snow machines, hunting and fishing, socializing, traveling to the Grand Canyon and Hawaii, dancing and riding his Quarter horse.

Survivors include daughter Carol Yowell Brown and son in law Robert Brown, of Rock Springs, Wyoming; son Richard Yowell of Steamboat Springs, Colorado; and one granddaughter, Nancy Brown of Pueblo, Colorado.

A visitation will be held 10-11 a.m., Thursday, October 27 at Yampa Valley Funeral Home with a Funeral Service following visitation at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the Yampa Cemetery. Please join the family for a reception following the internment at The Ladies Aid Hall in Yampa, CO.
