Obituary

William Clinton Cooper, 76, passed away on May 3, 2018 at home in Calhan, Colorado.  He was born on March 23, 1942, in Pittsburg, Crawford County, Kansas.  He lived in Pittsburg, Kansas until he was 8 years old and then moved with is family to Steamboat Springs, Colorado.  Clint was the son of William Dale Cooper and Ruby Margaret Devine Cooper.  On December 16, 1960, he married Elva Jean Rowley.  To this union were born 6 children.  Clint was employed at Boy's Market, Luran Auto Parts and Greeley Gas Company/Atmos Energy.  He worked for the natural gas company for 26 years before retiring in 2005.

Clint was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving in many callings.  He was a member of the Steamboat Springs Sheriff Reserve Organization.  Clint was a member of Calhan Town Board.  He also served as a member of the Pikes Peak RAC.  Clint enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and hunting.  His family and friends will always remember his keen sense of humor and his willingness to help others.

Clint was preceded in death by his son Russell Dale Cooper, his parents and grandson, Isaac Clifford Cooper.  He is survived by his wife, Elva Jean Rowley Cooper, children, Ruby Louella Cooper; Jaci (Russell) Cooper Patton; Rita Jean (Zachary) Ostin; Rachel Sue (Joseph) Kennedy; William Clifford (Julie) Cooper; Matthew Clinton (Amy) Cooper; grandchildren, Andrew and Alyssa Cooper; Elija, Naomi and Noah Ostin; Kaleb and Kaden Cooper; Ella Cooper, Kaitlyn and Dylan Disney; one great grandchild, Kian Vincent; and brother, Clifford Dale (Stephanie) Cooper.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday May 10, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Yampa Valley Funeral Home, 2105 Taxi Way, Steamboat Springs, Colorado, with internment at the Steamboat Springs Cemetery.  The viewing will be held from 10:00 am to the time of the service.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation National Office 1355 Peachtree St. NE Suite 600 Atlanta, Georgia 30309 or online at https://www.arthritis.org/donate.
