William, "Bill" R. Wofford was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming on December 23, 1938 to Virgil and Edna Wofford. He was oldest of five children, two brothers and two sisters. He spent his childhood in many places; Missouri, Kansas and eastern Colorado before coming to North Park in 1953.

Bill graduated from Jackson County High School. Being only 16 was too young for most jobs so he went to Adams State College for one year. He came back to Walden and went to work for Michigan River Timber Company as a lumber grader.

On February 10 th 1957 he married Carol Jean Manville. They had three sons Kenneth, Richard, Michael Eugene and Steven Wilson.

Bill loved ranching, working with animals and haying. He also spent some years working in the oil fields measuring the storage tanks which took Carol Jean and him to several states. He then got into the trucking business and the rest of his life was spent living tucks.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years sons; Kenneth (Toni) and Steven (Paula); grandchildren J.R. (Angie), Amanda (Quentin), Matthew (Johnna), Zachary and Levi. Great grandchildren; Kendra, Kameron, Katie, and Isabella. Brothers; Robert (Roberta), and Donald. Sisters; Beverly, and Cheryl; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Michael, brother-in-law Bub Denning, sister-in-law Mary Wofford, Mother and Father-in law Marjorie and Harry Manville, sister-in-law Pat Corkle, brother-in-law Bob Manville.

Memorial services will be April 11, 2016 at the North Park Community Church in Walden.
